History of the school:

The school building was opened as a new one on 1 September 1987. It has been included in the school network with effect since 1 September 1996. Its districts are the part of Velké Meziříčí on the right bank of the Oslava river, the local districts, the villages and settlements of Petráveč, Ruda, Jabloňov, Kúsky, Dolní Radslavice, Březejc, Oslavice, Lhotky and Baliny.

We have been a school with the legal personality since 1 January 2000. Our founder is The City of Velké Meziříčí. We provide basic education in the 1st - 9th school grades. In the area of material-technical security and securing of the whole area of the building we successfully cooperate with its founder, who participates not only in the economic operation of the school, but also contributes to other events such as:

  • reimbursement of operating costs of swimming training
  • reimbursement of pupils' transport costs for sporting events
  • provides funding for remuneration for outgoing pupils
  • gradual replacement of lino in staircases and classrooms
  • payment painting
  • gradual replacement of old windows for the new plastic ones
  • external thermal insulation of the school building

In autumn 2005 an extensive reconstruction of the gas boiler room was made. It was moved to the school building and the old unsuitable gas boilers were replaced with a new condensing boiler. We expect significant gas savings from this operation.

In the summer of 2007 the replacement of old windows with new plastic ones was completed. At the same time, the external insulation of the school building was finished.

School equipment:

Currently we have the following specialized classrooms:

  • Chemistry

  • German language
  • Art education
  • Music education
  • two classrooms for Computer technology
  • Practice kitchen
  • School workshops

Since the school year 2008/2009, the equipment of the classrooms with didactic technology has been regularly improved - interactive whiteboards have been installed in specialized classrooms and in some classrooms at the first level as well. Teachers also have a number of data projectors available for teaching.

The acquisition of new school furniture for both pupils and staff contributed to the improvement of the aesthetic and hygienic school environment. We also have 9 classrooms at the first level and 9 classrooms at the second level degrees. Part of the school is a school canteen and school club. Every year the school offers several hobby clubs.

Cooperation

Cooperating subjects are mainly other educational facilities in Velké Meziříčí, Jupiter Club cultural facility, educational-psychological centre at the school, sports clubs in the city, public library and museum.

A school board is established at the school.

Cooperation with parents takes place as a part of class meetings twice a year, parents are regularly invited to the school events for the public. Some parents are also small sponsors of the school. The school building is also used for other activities (renting gyms, classrooms, dental surgery, detached workplace of educational-psychological centre, cooking lunches for kindergartens and other boarders).
